Tasty Dog in the Kingdom: This Cambodian Life #23.  Delilah tackles a rather pressing, personal and relevant issue: the dating scene in Siem Reap.  Don’t even think it’s exciting.  She gives about 2% fact and 98% opinion.  Expect the best, get the worst.   The real excitement covered deals more with the law on prostitution here (which is inaccurate but will be corrected in the next episode) and her favorite new snack du jour.

The opening music is an old favorite that you may have already heard but deserves a second listen.  Sen Sisamuth and Rosarai Sothea are singing something about the rice in the fields, but as a Khmer speaking friend said, “It’s not what they say, it’s what they don’t say that’s important.â€?  I’m sure that helps you to find the deeper meaning.
